Action Alert: Tell McMaster: Don’t cut public funding for health care providers

In what appears to be a politically motivated move to further restrict abortion in South Carolina, Governor McMaster has issued an executive order that has the potential to limit access to a wide range of  health services for low-income citizens.

Action Alert: #PinkOut Day of Action for Planned Parenthood – June 21, 2017

Funding for Planned Parenthood (PP) is under serious threat. As the senate finalizes their health care bill, they need to be reminded of all the people who will loose essential health care services if PP centers are forced to close.

News: Anti-choice activists to run key HHS functions

Recent appointments at HHS (Teresa Manning and Charmaine Yoest) underscore the threat to reproductive autonomy posed by this administration. In addition to abortion, both appointees oppose the use of IUDs, the form of birth control that is one of the most effective at preventing pregnancy, according to the CDC. Manning and Yoest will be in positions to promote their views as representatives of the federal government, increasing their potential to sway public opinion through misinformation (see below).
