Issue: We need to encourage voter participation in our elections at the local, state and federal levels. Voting is the power the people have to make their voices heard.
Action: The League of Women Voters is offering a workshop on effective Get Out the Vote strategies, on Sunday, March 18 from 2:30-4:30 pm at the Charleston Public Library on Calhoun Street. Please consider attending, and bringing those strategies back to SIAN for implementation! Please let us know whether you plan on attending and can report back to SIAN.
Background: The mission of the Sea Islands Action Network is to provide a forum where concerned citizens can work together to oppose the Trump agenda and influence our elected representatives. Increasing voter registration is critical to influencing our representatives towards policies that we personally, and as a group, support.
